echoft is a free, personal-use mobile app. The audio you hear is streamed straight from the Internet Archive — their content, their rules. No warranty: when archive.org is down, echoft is down. By using the app, you agree to these terms.
01 What echoft is
echoft is a free client for browsing and streaming audio recordings hosted on the Internet Archive (archive.org). It runs on iOS, Android, and as a web preview at echoft.com. It is built and maintained by Logic FT Inc., an independent two-person studio based in Ontario, Canada.
We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Internet Archive. We are very, very grateful that it exists.
02 Acceptance of these terms
By installing, opening, or otherwise using echoft (the "App") and/or the echoft.com website (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, the remedy is simple: don't use the App or Site.
03 Personal, non-commercial use
The App and Site are provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Resell, repackage, or commercially redistribute the App itself.
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically mirror the App's interface for commercial purposes.
- Use the App as a backend for another product or service without written permission.
04 Content is not ours
All audio, artwork, metadata, descriptions, and identifiers you see in echoft come from archive.org. Your use of that content is governed by the Internet Archive's terms of use and by the licensing of each individual item — public domain, Creative Commons, or rightsholder-specific. Please respect those.
If you are a rightsholder with a takedown concern, please contact the Internet Archive directly via their legal page. The files are hosted by them, not by us.
05 No warranty · as-is
The App and Site are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don't guarantee that:
- Any specific recording will be available, playable, or remain available over time.
- Streams will play without buffering, errors, or interruption.
- Search, metadata, or thumbnails will be accurate.
- The App will be free of bugs or operate continuously.
archive.org uptime is the Internet Archive's responsibility. When they're down, echoft is down. That's the deal.
06 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Logic FT Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or Site — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
Our total cumulative liability, in any matter arising from these terms, will not exceed the amount you paid us — which, since echoft is free, is $0.00.
07 Privacy
Use of echoft is also governed by our privacy policy. Short version: we collect nothing on our side, because we have no servers.
08 Trademarks · third parties
"Internet Archive" and "archive.org" are properties of the Internet Archive. We use them only to describe what echoft connects to and to credit the source. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
09 Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are reflected on this page with an updated Effective date at the top. Continued use of the App or Site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If you don't, stop using echoft.
10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of echoft will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
