No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. No ads. echoft has no backend of its own. Audio streams directly from archive.org. A handful of preferences live in your browser or on your phone — never on our servers, because there are no servers.
01 Who we are
echoft is a free mobile app for iOS and Android, with a web preview at echoft.com. It is built and maintained by Logic FT Inc., an independent two-person studio with no investors and no commercial relationship with the Internet Archive.
02 What we don't collect
None of the following ever reaches us, because we have no infrastructure to receive it:
- No accounts, sign-ins, or user identifiers.
- No email addresses, names, phone numbers, or device IDs.
- No analytics SDKs, no telemetry, no crash reports tied to a person.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad networks.
- No social-login providers and no cross-site tracking.
03 What lives on your device
To make the app useful between sessions, a small amount of data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us:
- Favorites — items you've saved (mobile app, stored in a local Isar database).
- Listening history — what you've recently played (mobile app, local).
- Cached search results — so the app feels fast when you reopen it (mobile app, local).
- Recent searches — to make typing easier next time (browser
localStorageon the web preview).
You can clear any of this at any time. On mobile: Library → clear history or by uninstalling. On the web: clear your browser site data for echoft.com.
04 Audio streaming · archive.org
Every audio item you hear is streamed directly from archive.org. When you press play, your device opens an HTTPS connection straight to the Internet Archive — exactly as if you'd opened the file in a browser.
We do not proxy, relay, log, or rewrite those streams. The Internet Archive's own terms and privacy practices apply to that traffic.
If you want to inspect what's happening, the requests are plain GETs to archive.org/download/{identifier}/{filename} and archive.org/metadata/{identifier}.
05 The website
echoft.com is a static site. It does not set tracking cookies and does not run any analytics. It uses:
- Google Fonts for typography (Archivo Black, Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono). Google's privacy policy applies to those font requests.
- archive.org directly from your browser, for the in-page Discover widget — same caveats as above.
06 Children
echoft is rated for general audiences. Because we collect no personal data of any kind, no special handling for children under 13 is necessary. Some content on archive.org may not be appropriate for all ages — that's curated by the Internet Archive, not by us.
07 Your rights
Privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc.) generally grant rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold none, those rights resolve to a single sentence: there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. For anything stored locally on your device, deletion is in your hands — uninstall the app or clear site data.
08 Changes
If anything material changes, this page is updated and the Effective date at the top is bumped. There is no email list to notify, since — see above — we don't keep one.
